We are pleased to announce that the keynote address at MACSEM2008 will be delivered by Prof. Adelaida Reyes. Her lecture will be entitled "What Do Ethnomusicologists Study? An Old Question for a New Century."

Adelaida Reyes is Professor Emerita at New Jersey City University. She received her PhD in Ethnomusicology in 1975 at Columbia University. Her most recent books include Songs of the Caged, Songs of the Free: Music and the Vietnamese Refugee Experience (Temple University Press, 1999) and Music in America: Experiencing Music, Expressing Culture (Oxford University Press, 2004).
