(A.B., Harvard University, 2008, cum laude in field) Samuel's current research focuses on citizenship, language policy, and immigration in Quebec.  His previous or parallel projects have included a study of globalization and the musical concert tour based on fieldwork in continental Europe, research on urban folklore and and rural farming rituals in Andean Peru, and work on identity, events, and place among Irish Americans and Irish expatriates living in New York City.  He has presented work in English and French at academic conferences in the U.S. and Canada and was an affiliated researcher with the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in 2006.
